Mama's Treasure Box

This week for the Designer Darling Competition we had to make a kit without using commercial use products except for our own.  Quite a challenge with the time restraints but I made it.  whew!

When my mama died my dad gave me a little box full of "junk" about which he said, "I had no idea why she kept this stuff".  When we went through it there were lots of things from her childhood, and from the time when she and Dad were dating. And even a piece of 60+ year old wedding cake wrapped in a napkin and tied with a ribbon from her wedding!  I have had a lot of fun looking through those old treasures and decided to scan a few to add to this kit.  If I had had more time I would have done more, so keep watching...I am sure you will see more of these treasures showing up in future kits. That bike is a brooch, and I LOVE that sachet.  There were a number of old keys, all of which looked like they went to small locks or diaries...and tons of buttons, so you for sure are going to see more of them. :-)

SNP February Store Collab

Designer Darling Week 3

Whew, I just made it in under the wire on this one.  Tough assignment.  We had to extract three items either from our own photos or scans.  That was harder than the actual extracting as I had trouble getting a decent scan on Sieg's HP All-in-One and my desktop that has my scanner on it is down (as in dead, won't boot) right now so I am without my awesome scanner.  I was fortunate to have some scans that I had done previously to extract or I wouldn't have made it.

My little kit is called In The Pink and had a sweet piece of striped baker's twine, a layered flower, and a beautiful button in two parts so you can change up the color more easily.  All of the participants made little CU kits this week so be sure to hop over to Stuff to Scrap and grab them by Saturday if you design and want them as they will be gone after then...and we can all use new stuff, can't we. :-)

Oh, and come back later in the week...I will have a few more goodies for you.  Just going to bed now though. lol

I made a layout commemorating my dear mother-in-law who passed away just a few days ago.  She will be greatly missed by all who love her.  I found this palette to be "just lovely" with this great photo I had of her with my sweet hubby and his sister.

Designer Darling Round 2

Well, here we are at Round 2 of the Stuff To Scrap Designer Darling competition.

This week I made a kit with a more aged look and the theme of Happy Times, which was inspired by a photo provided to us of four friends attending a Scrapbook Convention.  They looked like they were having a great time together.  I thought that would be a great theme for a minikit.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it for you.

Designer Darling Competition

I am participating in the Designer Darling competition at Stuff to Scrap.  There will be an assignment to create a kit each week and we will learn lots of new things as we go along.  The great thing about this is that even if you get eliminated along the way you can continue to follow along and learn all the great tips for better designing.  Here is my Round 1 kit.  You need to go the to forum at Stuff to Scrap to find the download links.
