Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class Week 3

This week was about making a layout from scratch.  We learned to crop photos and make them fit into frames.  We also learned to use embellishments and add shadows.  The interesting thing is that I have done all of these things before but just not in PSE.  They say the learning curve for Photoshop is high but I think it is just that there is so much more it can do.  And once you figure it out it's so much easier to get the effect you want. I  really like how this page turned out.  Again, I still need to add a title and journaling.

Here is my lesson 3 layout...a little late.
I used Laitha Design's Industrious kit for this layout.

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class Week 2

Manipulating Layers and Cropping
This week in our class we created a layout using a layout guide provided for the class. We learned how to make a strip and a circle, and how to layer things to create a mat under out photos. It's pretty simple but I hope you like it. I still need to add titles and journaling but that comes later. lol

I used Trixie Scraps Blue Christmas Daily Download kit for this page.

Update:
Here it is after adding shadows...much better don't you think?

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class

This week  I am starting a Photoshop Beginner Class offered by Scraps-n-Pieces.  I have done quite a bit of photo and digital editing but not with Photoshop and since I now have it on my computer I really want to learn to use all the cool features.  I know some of what I learn will be redundant but I hope to be able to fully utilize my software so I am excited to take this class.  This week we don't have an assigned project...just to learn where things were on our software and set up files and folders for the class.  Can't wait until next week when we really get started.
