Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Techniques Class Week 3

Week three...where does the time go?  This class is so much fun and I am learning so much.  So far there are not too many things that I had not done before but oh, it is so much easier with PSE.  Things that take many steps to do in simpler programs are just a click or two away with this software.  I am loving it!

This time we learned about Overlays and Feathering and Blending.  On this layout I created a background using two different papers blended together, then I added the photo of my little brother as an overlay and when it was welded all together I got this awesome tattered photo look.

I used the Scraps-N-Pieces Collab Kit Twitterpated for this layout, a few extra elements came from Wendy Tunison's Thankful Hearts Kit, and the torn paper came from Keystone Scrap's Key to Happiness Kit - all available at Scraps-N-Pieces.  This was a fun layout to do. Thanks, SNP for all the wonderful things I am learning.

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Technique Class Week 2

This week we learned how to make things go behind and in front of other objects.  I love doing this technique!  It adds so much dimension to your layouts.  I wove the ribbons through the eyelets.  I love how it really looks like they are 3-D.
I used the Keystone Key to Happiness kit for this layout.

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Techniques Class Week 1

We started the second section of our Photoshop Class today.  It is on Photoshop Techniques.  This is the part I have anxiously awaiting.

I love this kit...it has such rich colors and awesome embellishments.
This first week we are working with Templates.  I used a free template that was provided for us and the Bohemian Rhapsody Kit by Amy Dane.  I had never used a template before and I LOVE IT.  It is so quick and easy to make the page your own with the choice of papers and embellishments.  I love how easy it is to add shaped pieces.  Even if you mix it up later just having a starter makes it all go so much faster.

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class Week 6

This week we worked on Quick pages, adding to them, and also on titles.  I love this photo of my beautiful granddaughter.  This page was perfect for her.

I used the Autumn Rose Quick Page by Cari Lopez and the Treasured Moments Alphabet by Kimeric Kreations
.This is our final class for this session.  Our next one will start soon and will be a techniques class.  I am excited to start on it as then we will get into the real meat of the program.  I am feeling pretty confidant about learning this thing after all!  Don't let anyone tell you it is hard.  Not so, you just need to DO IT and practice a little so it sticks.  But oh how fun, and so many things you can do.  Lovin it.

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class Week 5

This week we learned about text manipulation.  We worked on using the drop shadow, bevel, and stroke functions.  We also worked some more on adding effects to our photos. I am finally having some real fun and getting the hang of PSE. I still get lost a little finding things from time to time but once I find it I can usually figure out what to do with it now. lol.  Thanks to this class the fear factor has been taken out of it and I am finding it easier and easier to use.

I used Wendy Tunison's Merry kit for this layout...isn't it so cute!

Scraps-n-Pieces Photoshop Beginner Class Week 4

This week we learned about effects -  changing to black and white or monotone.  We also learned about strokes and how to add them to our pictures.  AND  now we are adding titles to our layouts.  Getting better, huh?

I used Wendy Tunison's Simplicity Kits for my layout. I love this soft blue with the black and white photo.
